Blood Donors Needed In Coming Days
Many will kick-off their summer with a trip to the lake, campground or park. Such travel takes people away from home where they typically donate blood, resulting in summer blood shortages.
Every two seconds someone needs blood. With that in mind, the American Red Cross urges vacationers not take a break from giving blood. Blood is needed, they point out, even during the summer months.
Consider the sobering thought that with a single donation of blood you can save the lives of up to three people.
Individuals are eligible to donate blood if they are: a minimum of 17 years of age; weigh a minimum of 110 pounds;’ and are in good general health. All donors must present a valid identification.
The following is a list of scheduled blood drives.
